Young Adult Services: Region 3 Consolidated Report
In 2016 and 2017, the Eastern Regional Mental Health Board conducted a comprehensive review and evaluation of the Young Adult Services (YAS) programs in Eastern Connecticut.
The goal of this review is to identify the strengths of existing Young Adult Services programs and challenges to providing effective services, to advocate for improvements to services for those in need of treatment and for those who have, for a variety of reasons, been unable to secure this vital programming for a specific population of young adults 18-25 in Connecticut. This report provides policymakers and the public with an overview of the current status of YAS, an accounting of emerging best practices, programmatic and systemic dilemmas encountered when serving this unique population, and a set of recommendations to address areas of concerns and to improve services.
